Twenty years ago, most American hunters had never heard of Namibia. The nation formerly known as South West Africa is one of Africa’s most stable governments and has the least human population density on the continent. When the fact that the country has both large private ranches (many of them unfenced) and tremendous communal concessions that are often in the millions of acres is considered then it is no wonder that Namibia is fast becoming the destination of choice for the hunter that wants more of a true safari experience than just a collection of trophies in the skinning shed.
